Testing for AAT Deficiency

Alpha-1 Advocacy Alliance Summary

Our mission forges A1AA ahead into the future possibilities of our lives as vital contributors to our fellow Alphas. Our Alpha community faces an ever-changing society to our patients. The Alpha-1 Advocacy Alliance formed to build an educational assistance program to meet these quickly expanding needs. We have a passion to serve the under-served populace, educating and empowering them to move in a direction that improves their lives. In addition, these same individuals have much to offer each other and through extended volunteers and compassion, we encourage growth through exchange.

The medical world has introduced the Alpha-1 patient to therapies to help improve the function ability of individuals. A1AA recognizes the need for patients to receive the best possible compassionate care in the administration of any medical needs and has sadly witnessed the loss of patient services through industry intervention. The personal needs of the Alpha 1 patient must never be forgotten and we at A1AA, are pleased to see Baxter align themselves as patient advocates who believe patients deserve choices. The choices can mean the difference between the emotional well-being and the physical draining of one's energy and health.

Our information network through Alpha-1 Advocacy Alliance will offer high quality response, respected professionalism, accuracy and timely updates, all while reflecting our personal commitment to provide services at no charge. Our accessibility through telephone service, Internet access and mailings should prove to touch the lives of anyone who needs help. Future conventions that bring the corners of the world together provide an ultimate goal but are not often recommended or accessible for most patients.
