Medicines -
|
Are there any contradictions? Side effects? You know the drill. The doctor has written you a prescription for a drug you've never heard of. Perhaps you go to several doctors and they forget to ask (or you forget to mention) about all your other medications. If you fill your prescriptions at more than one drug store, your pharmacist can not be responsible for possible interactions between your meds. The following web sites offer you the opportunity to look up your medicine and read about it before you take it. We suggest you read before you fill it as most medicines are not returnable. Always check on any new medicines you are taking if you notice any adverse side effects. http://www.rxlist.com/ The following web site offers some tips on over-the-counter (OTC) drugs that are known to react with prescription medications. As they suggest, always read the warnings on the medication box or pamphlet that accompanies the OTC product. http://www.pueblo.gsa.gov/cic_text/health/drug-interactions/druginte3.htm The following link is to the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and has 20 Suggestions for the consumer. It's a helpful tool in reminding us what to do when we take any medication. http://www.nacds.org/wmspage.cfm?parm1=1218
