Support
Support
is often the first thing newly diagnosed patients must empower themselves with. This connection with others who have experienced this life changing adjustment is one of both emotional and technical importance in the success of the patient. As an individual, they need personal mentoring, group support through fellow patients and Internet relationships, as well as factual knowledge to face the challenges, which may lie ahead. Specialized assistance as the patient's condition and situation adjust to illness, life-style changes and physical adjustments, approach to transplant and medicinal treatments available through therapeutics and clinical trials, family issues and the especially difficult area of illness in children are main areas of focus for this support system.
