    Common Tests for Liver Disease

Once you enter the world of liver disease, there will be some very common tests that you will be given repeatedly. These tests will be used diagnostically to determine the extent and/or progression of any liver disease. You will commonly hear the tests referred to by their short names (AST, ALT, bili, etc.). All of these tests can be done through simple blood draws and are repeated as determined by your doctor. The following site offers good explanations for most of these blood tests.
