Panniculitis is the disease related to Alpha-1 and the skin. There are many forms of panniculitis and not all are related to Alpha-1. The following web site offers a comprehensive over-view of the many forms of this skin disease:

Treatment varies from doctor to doctor. Some are treating patients with antibiotics while others have used augmentation therapy with some success. It varies from patient to patient.
