    "Educational Scholarship Grant "

The Alpha-1 Advocacy Alliance announce the availability of a new dedicated scholarship in honor of our Alphas lost. Many of our fellow Alphas have asked that donations be made to the A1AA in their honor at their passing. This bequest is now further recognized by going directly into the Alpha Memorial Educational Award.

The Alpha-1 Advocacy Alliance will offer at least one $500.00 grant each year for secondary educations (college or graduate studies) to an Alpha-1 individual who fulfills the requirements of the grant. This year we will offer two $500.00 awards.

    The following rules apply:

    • The individual applying for the grant must be at least a carrier of the Alpha-1 gene or the adopted child of an Alpha-1 individual.
    • The individual will submit an essay to the A1AA by a Word Document or by USPS mail by June 5th of the reward year.
    • The essay should be a minimum of 500 words and a maximum of 1000.
    • The topic of the essay should be “What does my future hold for me?”
    • The composition must be the work of the individual applying for the award.
    • Accompanying the essay should be a cover sheet listing the name, address, telephone, email address of the applicant and the name and address of the school they will be attending.
    • The decision of the A1AA will be final and announced publicly in The Register newsletter in the August issue
